My thoughts are probably not, but we'd like to think that our dear readers had an achey breaky heart when they saw that there wouldn't be a Fermentation Friday post last week...not that many of you would've read it anyways, it was the 4th of July after all! But I digress...
We'll go short & sweet with a few updates this week as we progress slowly but surely toward the opening of GrassLands!
1. Running a crowdfunding campaign is exhilarating
No joke, as of the writing of this post, we're sitting at 67 total backers of the Grasstacular Fundathon! representing over $9,000 in pledges toward our cause! With 25 days left in our 40-day campaign, we're totally blown away by all the support we've received so far and all the support to come in the next three+ weeks! It's truly an incredible feeling to see so many folks get so excited about our pending launch. Please, if you aren't involved yet, definitely do so! There are a ton of awesome opportunities available and we're really, really psyched to grow the awareness of this campaign...sharin' is carin'!
2. Life as a 100% GrassLands employee is...different
Many of you know that I'm not your typical entrepreneur - I consider myself more of a passionate perfectionist. I'm passionate about craft beer, Tallahassee, the state of Florida and sustainability; and I'm a perfectionist about starting a business that incorporates all those things. I'm also someone who abandoned a very healthy career in university development to pursue this dream. As of June 27th, I officially took the plunge and made that particular Friday the last time I worked for the man. Now I get to work for every man! It is a surreal feeling, to say the least, to wake up that first Monday and say to yourself: "Alright, let's get to work!"
3. Time to get back to workin' the community!
It feels like it's been forever since we held any sort of event (not counting Pints for Paws), and now we're approaching several over the course of the next few weeks and months...starting with the Domi Station Happy Hour where we'll be serving a pilot batch of Groundation Amber Rye! Other events on the horizon? Kiwanis Club presentation, Onyx tasting session, and holding a tasting session during the opening of this year's Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce Annual Conference! Wooot!
That'll about do it for this week. We're not overwhelmed yet, but there's still a ton of work to do before September rolls around! Stay tuned! Have an absolutely awesome weekend, my dear readers, because you definitely deserve it!
