Looking back on 2012

Looking back, 2012 was a wild ride...for many reasons. Let's give them their recognition, how's that sound?

  1. We brewed A LOT of beer - by my calculations, somewhere in the 175-180 gallon range. That's around 36 batches of beer.
  2. We sent out A LOT of beer - not enough by my standards, so we're going to do much better in 2013.
  3. GrassLands posted a total of 39 articles in 2012 - 37 on a weekly basis starting in mid-May. Man, that's a bunch of content!
  4. We participated in four competitions - landing several medal round finishes and one Gold Medal!
  5. We accumulated hundreds of new family members - for which we're totally thankful.

That's just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. As a result, we're excited about what 2013 can and will bring.

With that, we'll get to the gift we promised you:

I happily present the GrassLands_2013_Calendar

This was a common request submitted over the past week or so - what kind of brewing/tasting/sampling activity we'll have in the year to come. I'm more than happy to keep you in the loop as to what we've got in the "hopper". This calendar is most likely subject to change, but for the most part, this is the schedule we're looking to enact for the coming year. Oh yeah, we're also going to be fundraising here & there for brewery capital. I expect I'll be even more exhausted come 2014, but with a (hopefully) huge smile on my face. :)

I can't always guarantee it, but as you can see, we're going to be brewing, on average, twice a month; as much as our capacity allows. We'll be pulling lotteries for the GrassHoppers twice a month every month except for February. We'll be brewing future flagships, some experiments - old and new - and we'll be hosting a tasting event once every quarter. I think that'll suffice for one year, don't you? Pending what happens with Fermentation Lounge and their contracted brewing, there's room for collaboration projects as well. Can't you tell why I'm so excited?

What really blows me away is when I look back at the user activity over the past year. Through this site, Facebook and Twitter, you - my dear readers - have been nearly as active as I have. The arrow is pointing up, and we're thankful for you. I hate to continue this whole sappy/love-fest, but I cannot say it enough: I don't believe GrassLands could be a successful venture without you. You will ultimately make this thing a successful operation. No matter how hard I work, you are the most important facet in this whole venture. We will NEVER forget that. That I absolutely can promise.

So...Have an excellent, safe, and of course, Very Happy New Year; my dear readers...because you most definitely deserve it. We'll see you all in 2013!!!
